CONFIRMATION

Beginning in 2027, the Sacrament of Confirmation will take place earlier—either in the spring of 8th grade or early fall of 9th grade, rather than at the beginning of 10th grade.This change reflects a nationwide movement to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at a younger age, allowing youth to receive the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit during a time when they are facing increasing challenges to their Catholic faith and values. Faith Formation: Grades 1–8

At St. Benedict, faith is a way of life. Rooted in the Eucharist and centered in the home, our program helps families grow as disciples of Jesus.

Sessions meet twice a month at Our Lady of Fatima and/or Church of the Resurrection and include family meals, engaging activities, online resources and student classes (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Thursday(bilingual) classes).

Sacramental Prep:

Students preparing for First Communion and Reconciliation attend one extra class per month (Thursday) for sacramental preparation.

Confirmation Preparation

In line with the Archdiocese of Hartford, our Confirmation program helps teens deepen their relationship with Christ and embrace their role in the Church. Preparation typically begins in 8th grade and culminates in Confirmation by 10th grade.

Sessions are held once a month on Sundays and include prayer, discussion, service opportunities, and reflection. Families and sponsors are invited to be part of the journey, supporting their teen’s growth in faith and discipleship.
